Reading Romances Challenge: July Completed

This is my Reading Romances Challenge monthly status. July didn’t go so well. I started with a few options and ended up reading completely different books… And this is why I’m always reluctant in naming my choices in the beginning of each month.

So… here they are, duly accompanied by my thoughts on the matter:

TOPICS:

1) Read a book that has a “male profile” on the cover – Ecstasy Unveiled by Larissa Ione (Demonica #4). This series is one of the reasons why I left some of my previous choices behind. I’m following this one through and loving each new turn of events.

2) Read a book that is currently at the top bestselling romances – Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James – I didn’t get to read this one yet. Still scared by the reviews and am currently scratching my well known itch that keeps me from getting something just because everyone else is buying it. I’m not much for following the crowd.

3) Read a book that is part of a series – ‘A hunger like no other (Immortals After Dark #1) by Kresley Cole – You can see my review here…

4) Reread a favorite book – Lover Avenged by J.R.Ward (portuguese version released on the 24th) – Since I didn’t get it as a birthday present, it made my ‘To Buy Urgently List’.

7)Read a book that has a princess or prince as a character; or a book inspired by a fairytale – ‘The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty’ by A.N. Roquelaure – What can I say?! Didn’t liked it. All this submission issue really isn’t my thing. I kept getting shocked until I realized that I could just drop the book altogether. And that’s what I did, even though I’m not usually a big fan of abandoning them in the middle, but I made an exception for this one. All this imprisonment, utter submission and pain (and let’s face it: rape) isn’t in my thing at all.

So this is my last month update, successfully completed even if full of twists and turns. August Challenge will be available soon…
