This is the monthly status of the Reading Romances Challenge 2012. My initial book choices are always open to change and March saw a lot of those.
So here’s the March wrap-up:
Topics: Read a book whose author either has a three-word name or carries an official middle initial: “Dreamfever” by Karen Marie Moning
Themes: Read a book that is set in Scotland or has a Highlander as a character: “Spell of the Highlander” by Karen Marie Moning”
Special Events: International Womens’ Month: read a book that has a single female figure on the cover: “Succubus Revealed” by Richelle Mead (see my review here).
April’s RR Challenge will be exploring Alternate Realities. This month I prefer to give this challenge a few more thought so I’ll be choosing my readings in a few days. I’ll be back to you soon…
TOPICS: Alternate Realities Month
1) Read a contemporary book where something is different in the world than what reality reflects. (vampires, magic etc)
2) Read a book set in the future or a historical with an alternative reality (i.e. steampunk).
THEMES:
3) Read one book that was nominated for the RITA or Golden Heart award!
SPECIAL EVENTS:
4) Read an LGBT book, a book with at least 3 of the 7 colours of a rainbow (violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red) on it’s cover, or a book with a title that includes the word: dream/s, wish/es, or rainbow.
5) Read a book with an accountant/book-keeper character, or due to a shortage of funds, read a free or borrowed (library, friend etc) book.
