Review: ‘Public Secrets’ by Nora Roberts

This is my Romantic Suspense book choice for October’s RR Challenge (Themes #3).

Public Secrets’ gives us a tour through two decades of Emma McAvoy’s life. First as a young child that suffers at the hands of her birth mother and as the unexpected and unwanted daughter of an arising rock star. Then as the foreign element in a pop music’s band road to success. And later as a young woman and her choices and fears that led her to marriage and a new king of hell. read more

Review: ‘River Marked’ by Patricia Briggs

River Marked’ is the 6º book of the Mercy Thompson Series. It took me about 10 hours to get through this one, a normal pace for the books of this series. I really enjoyed getting back to Tri-Cities and to Mercy’s prowess to attract danger. Nevertheless there were some things that kept bugging me throughout the book.

OK, it has action. Mercy is herself and she’s a good heroine, Adam, Jesse and his pack are always a treat. But it felt a little bit empty. read more

Diário de Bordo: Actividades Literárias das Últimas Semanas

OK, estou quase a acertar com esta coisa dos diários. Mas, no meu caso, é melhor apelidá-lo de mensário!

Passem por lá e deixem os vossos comentários. Todo o feedback é bem-vindo. read more

Books: What do you look for in a review?

Review/Opinião: ‘Kiss of Fate’ by Deborah Cooke

Kiss of Fate‘ is the 3rd book in Deborah Cooke’s Dragonfire Series. It’s about the third firestorm, between Eric Sorensson and Eileen Grosvenor, before the final battle between Pyr and Slayer.

It’s also a suitable book for the 2nd topic of the Reading Romances Challenge: Read a book with an older Hero or heroine (AT LEAST mid-to-late thirties): Eric has a few centuries in his backpack and Eileen’s thirty-seven. read more

Review: ‘Persuasion’ by Jane Austen

June Reading Romances Challenge: Read a Stand-Alone book

I bought this book in my first visit to London about seven years ago. It was on sale on a little book store in Nottingh Hill and I just couldn’t pass this opportunity to bring a personal token from the city I love so much. read more
